IT Master Plan

The City of Boise Information Technology Department has recently updated it's previous five-year technology plan. The new plan outlines twenty-four major initiatives beginning in July of 2012 through the end of June 2017.

The project was completed and the final plan presented to the Mayor and City Council on August 28, 2012.  The plan spans a six-year fiscal period (FY12, FY13, FY14, FY15, FY16, FY17).  It includes initiatives among these four basic elements of information technology:

  • Applications
  • IT Decision-Making
  • IT Service Delivery
  • Technical Infrastructure

The twenty-four initiatives are aligned under these five major goals:

  • Goal 1: Accountable, innovative, and high-quality service
  • Goal 2: Technology literate workforce
  • Goal 3: Organizational efficiency and effectiveness
  • Goal 4: IT investment aligned with business priorities
  • Goal 5: Current, sustainable, secure infrastructure
